“Cybersecurity and Ethics”: Aligning Knowledge and Responsibility in the Face of Modern Threats

A significant event held at the Ministry of Digital Technologies brought together industry representatives, international experts, and young professionals on a single platform. The event was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, ministry officials, representatives of the University of North Georgia (USA), field specialists, and students. Such broad participation clearly underscored not only the academic, but also the strategic importance of the event.

In his opening remarks, the Minister emphasized that in the context of rapid globalization and digital transformation, cybersecurity is increasingly becoming a top priority. He noted that amid the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, relying solely on technical expertise is no longer sufficient — a strong sense of ethical responsibility is equally critical. It was also highlighted that the country’s leadership has set clear strategic priorities for the consistent development of the cybersecurity sector, strengthening the capacity of Cyber University, and training highly qualified, competitive specialists.

Against the backdrop of these discussions, the event featured the presentation of a new book titled “Cybersecurity and Ethics” authored by American scholar Professor Murti Rallapalli. The publication provides a comprehensive analysis of modern cyber threats, strategies for their prevention, and ethical challenges in the digital space.

According to experts, the book is expected to serve as an important resource not only for specialized professionals but also for a broader audience, as it explores both technological advancements and the human dimension, particularly issues of responsibility and ethical conduct.

As part of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Cyber University and the University of North Georgia, aimed at expanding international cooperation. This agreement is expected to facilitate joint research initiatives, academic exchange programs, and the implementation of best international practices.
